  • Dr. Lauren Lyssey DVM, Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Lyssey and her husband RJ moved to Texas in November and we miss them. Dr. Lyssy served the Arivaca Animal Clinic clientele for three years and did a wonderful job.

    Dr. Lyssey is Dr. Robinson’s granddaughter. Raised in Arivaca on her grandfather’s Tres Bellotas Ranch. In 2009, she moved to Bryan, Texas to work for her uncle, Dr. Cliff Honnas, at Texas Equine Hospital as a Veterinary Technician plus attend Texas A&M University for her pre-veterinary classes. In 2014 she started Veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the Island of St. Kitt. After completing her senior clinical year at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine she received her DVM in 2018.

    Lauren married R. J. Lyssy in October of 2017 and then they moved back to Arivaca to join her grandfather’s clinic as a new Associate Veterinarian.

  • Dr. Cliff Honnas DVM, DACVS

    Dr. Honnas, who is Dr. Robinson’s Son-in-law, is one of the leading Equine surgeons in the nation. He is available for Equine consultation and surgery. Dr. Cliff Honnas, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1984 from Colorado State University. He subsequently completed a one-year internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at Texas A&M University, followed by a three-year residency in Equine Surgery at the University of California — Davis, California. In 1988, he relocated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he taught Equine Surgery at Louisiana State University. While at LSU, he became board certified in Equine Surgery. In 1989, he and his family moved to College Station, Texas to work at Texas A&M University as an Equine Orthopedic Surgeon. Dr. Honnas practiced at Texas A&M University for 19 years, and was a tenured full professor. Dr. Honnas had a very active clinical practice at the university as well as an active consulting practice throughout the state of Texas. In 2009, Dr. Honnas opened up his private practice Texas Equine Hospital in Bryan, Texas. Opening up his own practice has been very rewarding these past 13 years. Dr. Honnas and his wife, Lorie, live in Robertson County and have six children. They both were raised in Christian homes and accepted Jesus as their own personal Savior at early ages. They strived to raise their children in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
